Making Liquefaction happen...

Room 9 have been learning lots about earthquakes. We learnt that liquefaction caused a lot of damage in the Christchurch earthquakes. To help us understand what liquefaction is, we did a science experiment to see how the water beneath the earth's crust is 'shaken up' in an earthquake. We watched how our sand landscapes changed when we shook them to simulate an earthquake.
